Background & Philosophy

I am a registered dietitian and certified personal trainer based in Atlanta, Georgia with ten years of experience. I am passionate about the power of nutrition and physical activity to optimize health, prevent or better manage disease, increase energy levels, enhance athletic performance, and improve quality of life.

After graduating from Yale University and working in the education field for two years, I decided to combine my love of teaching and desire to help others with my longtime personal interest in health and nutrition by pursuing a career as a registered dietitian.

Three years of coursework later, ranging from organic chemistry and human physiology to advanced macronutrients and sports nutrition, I earned my Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from New York University in 2013. I then moved to Atlanta to complete my Dietetic Internship (1200+ hours of supervised training) at Emory Healthcare, where I subsequently worked as a clinical dietitian. Recognizing the complementary roles of nutrition and exercise, I completed my certification as a personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine in 2017.

Since 2014, I have worked in a variety of corporate, community, medical, and fitness settings with diverse audiences supporting a broad range of health conditions and goals. My specialty areas include sports performance nutrition, weight management, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease.

Through individual nutrition counseling, group education, writing and media, I aim to empower people with the knowledge, skills and motivation to help them make positive behavior changes towards their desired health goals.

As a dietitian and fitness professional, I am dedicated to providing empathetic, evidence-based and highly individualized care, discouraging fad diets and extreme measures, and instead helping clients develop a pattern of eating and movement that is nourishing, sustainable and enjoyable. A veggie lover and avid runner myself, I truly believe the best form of exercise is the one you enjoy and the optimal nutrition plan is one that is tailored to your unique needs, goals, food preferences, health history, schedule and lifestyle.

Whether you are looking to fuel more optimally for exercise, prevent or better manage a health condition such as diabetes or hypertension, increase your energy levels, and/or develop a healthier approach to food and fitness, I am excited to work with you!
